Costa Rica Classic Day by Day Itinerary
When it is your first time traveling to Costa Rica with your family and you are not sure exactly which destinations to add to the list, you can’t go wrong with visiting some of the classic natural wonders this country is known for. Costa Rica tours vary from hikes, to sailing tours, to a tour of a coffee plantation, to birding, horseback riding, ATV, … Your trip to Costa Rica can be anything you want it to be! On this trip we will introduce you to Arenal, Monteverde, and Tamarindo in Guanacaste. Guanacaste is known for its eternal sun, in dry season as well as rainy season. Enjoy!
Day 1:
You will fly into Liberia, the capital city of Guanacaste where you will be met by a My Costa Rica representative with a welcome package in hand. From the airport, you will be taken to your hotel in Arenal and start your family trip! Get ready for your transfer to Arenal! Arenal is the most famous active volcano in the country. It combines the beauty and abundance of flora and fauna, with adventure travel and ultimate relaxation.
Day 2:
Take the Arenal Sky trek tour. See a vast amount of Wildlife in the cloud forest reserve and fly across the canopy on a zip line. For those who want the bird-view and wildlife without the speed, you will love the sky tram!
Day 3:
Your day begins with a transfer to Monteverde. This is where the amazing Cloud Forests of Costa Rica are. Monteverde Cloud Forest offers a great combination of adventure and culture. Today you can already take part in the El Trapiche Coffee tour and check out the local way of making coffee. Costa Rican coffee is famous for being one of the best in the world. A visit to the coffee plantation will reward you with a taste of this world-famous brew.
Day 4:
The Santa Elena Cloud Forest tour is a wonderful hike a little off the beaten path. Explore the wonders of the cloud forest and if you are lucky, perhaps you can spot the elusive quetzal!
Day 5:
Now it’s time to transfer to Tamarindo! This is a very popular beach area you are sure to love. Enjoy your stay at one of the world class hotels. You can choose for yourself what kind of property you want to stay at. Whether it is a small and charming hotel or a fabulous all-inclusive resort.
Day 6:
A free day in Tamarindo can mean two things. Shopping or surfing! With its consistent and low waves, Tamarindo is the perfect challenge for first time surfers. Alternatively, you can spend your day souvenir shopping in the popular beach town of Costa Rica!
Day 7:
After enjoying your free day, you will have a chance to take the sunset cruise on the Marlin Del Rey! Go snorkeling, have some cocktails on deck while you enjoy a prime view of the Guanacaste shores. Perfect end to a perfect vacation!
