What to do in Avellanas

Playa Avellanas has over eight surf breaks along its shore, and it is not a place for novices. To get maximum fun, it is best to surf during high tide when the waves form perfect tubes. There are a lot more activities to enjoy while visiting Playa Avellanas. Lovers of Golf will enjoy the magnificent and very luxurious Hacienda Pinilla Beach Resort. There’s a fantastic 18-hole golf course. It was designed by Mike Young and is probably the best golf course in the whole of Central America.
It is possible to swim in Avellanas however great caution is advised, as there are strong currents. By the rocks is where it is safest and where you sometimes find some rock pools. Avellanas is perfect for long strolls on the beach, horseback riding. Come and explore the surrounding beaches and visit the National Parks. Do not miss a Tour of the National Park Las Baulas in Playa Grande where the giant Leatherback Turtles and the Olive Ridley Turtles come and nest their eggs.

It is easy to find though the road is not paved, passing through Santa Cruz or Villareal.
