The Crowne Plaza sits in Sabana Norte, right next to La Sabana Metropolitan Park, the big green space on the west side of San José. For years we knew it as the Corobicí, and it is still the same practical city hotel with a pool, two restaurants and the park across the road.

It suits business travellers, and anyone who wants a night in the city with somewhere to walk in the morning.

Rooms and views

The rooms run from Standard and Premium rooms to the One Bedroom Suite, the Master Suite and the Presidential Suite. The higher floors on the park side look over the trees of La Sabana, and some rooms have a private jacuzzi. The suites give a family or a longer stay more room to spread out.

On the property

There is an outdoor pool with a jacuzzi, a fitness center, two restaurants on site, a small casino and a shop. On-site parking is handy for anyone with a rental car, and the event venues host meetings and celebrations.

From here the city is easy to explore: the National Theatre, the Jade Museum and the Cathedral are in the centre, and day trips to Poás and Irazú volcanoes leave from the hotel. We like those tours early in the morning, when the volcano craters are usually clearest.

Location and getting there

The hotel is in Sabana Norte on the west side of San José, about 30 minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport. Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is at 12:00 pm. Read more about San José.
