Wyndham Tamarindo, on the hill above Tamarindo and the Pacific
Wyndham Tamarindo, formerly Hotel Esplendor, sits high on a site with views over the Pacific and a quick connection down to the centre of Tamarindo. Every room has an ocean view and a balcony, and guests can use the Langosta Beach Club by the sand. It suits couples, wedding groups and travellers who want a modern hotel with the town close by.
Why we choose it
- The ocean from every room. All the rooms face the Pacific from a private balcony, so nobody draws the short straw on the view.
- A beach club as well as a pool. Guests have the infinity pool on the hill and access to the Langosta Beach Club when they want sand and waves.
- Made for weddings. The hotel has event spaces for ceremonies and receptions, with the beach club as a second setting.
Rooms and views
The rooms are all ocean-view rooms of about 40 m2 with a balcony, and the difference between them is mostly the beds. The King Room suits a couple. Families and friends can choose two or three single beds, one king and one single, or two queens.
The Premium King Rooms are on the top floor, with the widest view. There is an accessible room with two single beds and an ocean view, which we can request for anyone who needs it.
On the property
Caviar is the oceanfront restaurant and bar. The infinity pool looks out over the Pacific, and the spa offers massages for the afternoon after a surf lesson. Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am, and the person checking in must be at least 18.
Location and getting there
The hotel is in Tamarindo, about 2 hours by road from Liberia airport, up the hill from the beach and the town. From here we can arrange surfing, sport fishing, kayaking, rafting further inland and quiet rainforest walks, and Tamarindo's restaurants are a short ride down. See more of Tamarindo.
