Amor Arenal sits on Route 142, the road from La Fortuna to the Arenal Volcano National Park, with its casitas built out over a forested canyon and the volcano showing through the trees. It opened in 2019, and the open architecture and panoramic windows are there to keep that view in front of you. Guests must be 13 or older, so it reads as a couples' hotel, for people who want Arenal with quiet mornings.

- Grown-up quiet. The minimum age is 13 and the hotel calls itself adults-friendly, so couples get the calm without a strict adults-only rule.
- Springs on the grounds. Three soaking pools fed by mineral springs and a swim-up bar in 36 degree water, with a shuttle into La Fortuna every day.
Rooms and views
There is one kind of room, the Canyon Casita, with a King bed or with 2 Queen beds, and every one has the same deck with a hot jacuzzi over the canyon and a straight view of the volcano. Inside: 872 sq ft (about 81 m2), a walk-in shower behind a panoramic window, air conditioning and fast WiFi. The minibar is restocked every day with homemade kombucha and sangria, and breakfast comes with the stay.
On the property
Water is the point here. Three soaking pools are fed by mineral springs, the main pool is a cool mineral pool beside the Tiki swim-up bar, and the Pura Vida Wet Bar sits in 36 degree water with stools in the pool. The Rainforest Spa works with Tibetan and quartz bowls, cacao ceremonies and couples' rituals, and there is a wellness class at 8am every day.
El Rancho, the main restaurant, serves international cooking with a Latin American twist from 06:00 to 22:00. La Jaranita is a Costa Rican bar with Guaro Cacique cocktails beside the Tico Grill, and at Chef's Corner the executive chef cooks a small table from what is fresh that day. Two trails cross the property, the easier Nanciton and the harder Serenity, on your own or with a guide.
Location and getting there
The hotel is 7 km west of downtown La Fortuna on Route 142, with a daily shuttle into town for dinner. Fly into San José or Liberia and we arrange a private transfer either way. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out by 12:00 PM. Read more about the Arenal Volcano.
