Hampton by Hilton Guanacaste Airport is directly across from Liberia International Airport, about 1 km from the terminal, at the Solarium development on Route 21. It is an airport hotel, and we use it as exactly that: a first night after a late landing, or a last night before an early flight home, so nobody starts or ends a holiday on a dark road.
It suits anyone flying in or out of Liberia, couples and families alike, who would rather sleep than drive.
Why we choose it
- Right next to the terminal. The airport is 1 km away and the hotel shuttle runs from 5 am to 10 pm, so an early departure is an easy morning.
- Rooms that fit a family. The Two Double Beds room sleeps 4, the Queen with a sofa bed sleeps 3, and connecting rooms can be confirmed ahead. Cribs are available and there is a children's pool.
- A standard you know. It is a Hampton by Hilton, Hilton's focused-service brand, with a hot breakfast buffet, Wi-Fi throughout and no smoking anywhere in the building.
Rooms and views
There are three room types: the King Room for a couple, the Queen Room with Sofa Bed for three, and Two Double Beds for four. Each has a workspace, a dual vanity and a mini refrigerator. There is no sea view here, and that is fine: the rooms are about a quiet night and a quick start, and the beach comes next.
On the property
The day starts with a hot buffet breakfast in the restaurant, and there is a bar area for the evening. The outdoor pool has a separate children's pool, useful after a long travel day. There is also a fitness center, a business center, guest laundry, a gift shop, a concierge and secured self-parking. Hilton's Digital Key works here, and pets up to 30 kg are welcome.
The Solarium around the hotel has shops and places to eat within walking distance.
Location and getting there
The hotel is 12 km from the centre of Liberia. Playa del Coco, Playa Penca and Playa Panama are all less than 30 km away, and inland you have Ponderosa Adventure Park at 23 km, La Leona Waterfall at 26 km and Santa Rosa National Park at 52 km.
