Active Family Adventure – Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Your trip begins! You will fly into San José, the capital of Costa Rica, where you will be picked up and brought to the Aurola Holiday Inn.

Day 2:

Time to head to Puerto Viejo at the colorful Caribbean! Check into Villas de Caribe for the next three nights. Check out some of the stunning beaches close by like Playa Cocles!

Day 3:

Today you will enjoy a wonderfully varied tour starting at the Jaguar Rescue Center and ending with a refreshing dip in a waterfall! The rescue center will introduce you to all of the efforts made in protecting and conserving local wildlife like monkeys and sloths. After that, you will be introduced to the traditional way to make chocolate as practiced by the local indigenous cultures. After learning so many new things, head to the waterfall for a swim before returning to the hotel.

Day 4:

White sandy beaches, lush jungles, sloths, monkeys, birds, welcome to day 4 and your Cahuita National Park hike!

Day 5:

Are you ready for your adventure on Pacuare River, one of the top five rafting rivers in the world? In between some wild rapids, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the views on Huacas waterfall and to spot some bird species, sloths, monkeys, and more.

Day 6:

Your transfer to Arenal will take you to the fabulous Los Lagos Resort and Spa! Arenal is a great destination for the traveler looking to relax as well as looking to experience some real adventure!

Day 7:

Time to get active again! Today you will experience the one of a kind Arenal Sky Trek! Enjoy a thrilling zipline circuit and end your day with a sky tram perfect for spotting wildlife and enjoying the beauty of the rainforest!

Day 8:

Today you will be heading to the fabled Monteverde! Stay at the Trapp Family Lodge and experience the magical wonders of the cloud forest. At night you will be taking the Night Tour and watch the forest come to live with all kinds of nocturnal creatures!

Day 7:

Allow the Santa Elena Cloud Forest to reveal its secrets to you as you hike through the woods. Perhaps you will even get a chance to spot the elusive Quetzal.

Day 8:

All good things come to an end! Today you will be transferred back to San Jose where you will spend your last night at the Hampton Inn. We hope you enjoyed your Costa Rica vacation and that you will be back to visit us soon!
