Rafiki Safari Lodge located on over 800 acres of gorgeous jungle. Right, on the Savegre River just South of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The Boshoff Family started the Rafiki Safari Lodge project in 1999. They hope of using tourism as a way to build a wildlife refuge and Tapir rescue facility. Their work also at nursing tapers back to health and The Lodge’s commitment to rescue and release of these animals is critical. All for the continuation of a healthy and diverse population of tapirs in the Savegre corridor of Costa Rica.
Plans are currently underway to fence in a protective wilderness area as well as build a veterinary facility to provide the necessary medical treatment to rescued tapirs. The Rafiki Safari Lodge’s involved in their community. They also have planned scholarships for local students to study Eco-tourism, biology or a related field.

Manuel Antonio National Park contains a unique combination of distinct habitats: including rainforest, mangrove swamp, beaches and coral reefs. There are 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds. Your picturesque 2-mile hike will take you to one of the beaches named most beautiful in the world by Forbes magazine. This protected area is very popular due to its wide variety of flora and fauna. Your guide will stop and explain the different nature species that can be observed, you can take photographs or just admire the view.

Tour Duration (approximately): 8 hours
The tour starts by picking up customers at their hotels. Just 15 minutes from downtown Quepos, in our ATV base, we assign the ATVs to each person and start the journey to the canopy. We use a highly secure, internal and exclusive company route , so you don´t need to worry. After 40-45 minutes you reach the canopy, where you can eat a quick snack at the restaurant before the adventures begins. The canopy duration is about 1 or 2 and a half hours. It will depend of the group. Getting back from the waterfall to the restaurant you will enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch. Then we continue our ATV tour and return to the ATV base. Finally at the end of the journey, we return the guest to their hotels.

This Manuel Antonio tour is perfect if you just want to get out and have some fun. Round trip transportation is provided and you will be picked up at your hotel and go to the Quepos’s pier, where the jet skis’ platform is located. Safety lockers are provided, so you can put all of your belongings in them. Your guide will give you a safety talk and you will get a chance to try a few practice runs on Yamaha Wave runners. These Jet Skis have low emission engines, to preserve the environment and each one of them has a dry compartment where you can store small items such as your camera. This 2 hour excursion will take you where you can see three islands and spot birds flying overhead. During your Jet Ski tour you will make a 30 minute stop at Biesanz Bay where you can snorkel and try to find schools of parrotfish, angelfish and starfish. Water visibility depends of the season. This Manuel Antonio tour provides you with snacks and beverages, and does not require previous experience.
