Day 1

Are you ready to begin your tarpon fishing trip to Costa Rica, you will be starting this excursion in San Jose, This is where the SJO, San Jose International Airport is located. San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and serves as the base for your fishing trip. In the big city, you will enjoy a night of relaxation after your long flight. So we will put you at the Hotel Grano de Oro. Grano de Oro is really stunning when you first walk in, it isn’t the biggest hotel but certainly is the most luxurious.

Day 2-3

After your first day of rest, you will be starting your trip and heading out towards the Northern Pacific. This part of the country is called Tortuguero. Here you will find an abundance of wildlife, a large variety of birds, Monkeys, Lizards and most importantly fish. The main fish here is, of course, Tarpon, they reach a large size up to 100 pounds or bigger. After your excursion north, you will spend the next few nights at Pachira Lodge. This Lodge is surrounded by a network of canals. Get settled into the hotel then you will want to go on the Tortuguero Fishing Tour. Your guides provide all the equipment and have been fishing those waters most of their lives, so you can be sure to catch that famed tarpon.

Day 4

After your fishing trip to the north, you will be heading to the Arenal Volcano, This scenic area is full of volcano views and rolling hills. After traveling from Tortuguero it will be a needed change to stay at the Arenal Volcano Lodge and Springs. The Lodge is unique among the Arenal hotels it has some relaxing hot springs to bring you to a more peaceful state of mind.

Day 5

On Day five you will be headed to your first tours of Arenal. The Sky Trek & Tram the ultimate Zip Line & Gondola with Panoramic Views. There is no better way to view the forest floor below than by taking a ride on the Sky Tram. It goes slow enough to take some great pictures and see the Wildlife of the region. Although the tram is a fun tour you will much more enjoy the thrill of flying through the canopy above. That is one of the best ways to feel like you’re actually flying but have the safety of a harness.

Day 6

On Day 6 you will now be going to Lake Arenal for your Arenal Sports Fishing trip. Here you will have the chance to catch a Guapote (AKA the famous Rainbow Bass), This is a large mouthed freshwater fish that will give you a good fight. All equipment and guides will be provided. After your famed day of fishing, you will now head back to San Jose in a private transfer for your last night in the country at Grano de Oro.

Day 7

So we hope you enjoyed an amazing fishing trip to Costa Rica. Please come back as there are so many more types of fish to catch.
